In a ruined old church in a little village in the south
there was this small chamber with this overturned, mossy gravestone.
I could hear through the walls muffled sounds of schoolchildren singing and playing across the street.

This made the scene sort of cinematic, as if it triggered a distant memory or something.  Does that make sense?
