Terraced Vineyards, Spain
A shot of some of the very interesting vineyards planted on the steep slopes of the canyons above the river Miño in Galicia. Ancient Romans introduced viniculture here, and it was continued on by monks in the Middle Ages. It thrives today.
There were many monasteries built in the remote canyons and valleys of the Miño, and its tributary the Sil. For this reason the wine that comes from here is classified as Ribera Sacra, or "Sacred Shore."
It's good schtuff too, by the way.
