Midday Prayers, Cairo

Midday Prayers, Cairo

$0.00Price

Maybe my personal favorite photograph out of everything I've taken.

Maybe.

Market vendors in a downtown Cairo neighborhood
at Friday noontime prayers, shot from the 3rd floor balcony of a vacant apartment. I just walked out there.

The right place at the right time.

Many sizes of this image have been sold out for years.
I print in limited editions so those sizes are gone forever.

In fact, for the past decade or more this image has mostly only been available printed very large, but in 2025, to celebrate its anniversary, I am introducing a special edition printed in two paper sizes I've never used before: 6x9 and 10x15. I managed to finish these in the well-known and popular standard mat sizes of 11x14 and 16x20, respectively.

This anniversary edition will see this old Kodak Gold negative printed vividly on Lustre photographic paper, and it will only be available in very cool coal-black conservation mats.  They look sharp. The edition will be a total of 250, and they will be ready in July 2025.
