One of my favorite photos. I'm standing on a frozen remote lake in western Mongolia, looking down at the stunning patterns of cracks and trapped air bubbles in the vivid blue ice. The lake had been blanketed with snow, but a sudden volley of violent wind gusts removed it, revealing the secret of the breathtaking beauty below.
NOTE: It is also available without my feet. I took two shots. On one I leaned over and got more of the bubbles. This is Fractures #1.
